Figured I might as well give it a shot right? Kudos to Digi for use of social media to bring attention to their mobile broadband service. More competition has to be a good thing. I look forward to trying it out on the go. Here is my photo submission. Vote for it here.

Full HD to your flat panel over ethernet without a PC sound nice? Currently I deploy a macmini and Plex as a HTPC / networked media center solution. The Western Digital TV-2 looks very interesting though.

From this photo we can see USB for external drive support, HDMI for 1080p to your flat panel display, optical out for DTS audio goodness and ethernet for access to networked media. Very nice.. it looks like the TV-2 would pair nicely with a WD MyBook. Let’s hope the firmware is hackable and folks get mythtv or XBMC running on it.

I was going to post about this totally creepy-cool Albert Einstein robot. While looking for the company / lab responsible I came up with Hanson Robotics. Check out the little guy below – 299 USD. Some amazing toys around the corner – welcome to the future.

My office is over at Dataran 32 in Section 14 Petaling Jaya. This is an excellent business location in PJ. We’ve got restaurants like Papa Rich, Coconut house and probably one of the best banana leaf restaurants in PJ, Ravi’s.
There’s just one problem – it smells like shit. As in fecal matter, hold your nose bad. After repeated attempts to make management aware of the foulest of odor problems, it persists.
Initially the Dataran 32 office blamed the problem on the restaurants here by suggesting that the offending odor was trash. This does not smell like trash though. It has the smell of methane that accumulates from sewage in tropical heat. Further pressed on the issue, Dataran 32 maintenance admitted that there is a sewage problem. They suspect that at some point one of the suites here was doing renovation and decided it would be a good idea to pour building material like concrete down the toilet. Apparently there is blockage in the pipes. Raw sewage stays in the pipes rather than completing its journey to the hellish underworld.
OK then, please fix it.
Imagine your embarrassment when you invite a client to your office and the first thing they ask is, “What’s that SMELL?” The odor is so strong in the car park that I’m worried there could be an explosion, seriously.
We’ve sent emails, faxes, repeated calls and the problem has persisted for a year.
I hope that Crest Builder Holdings Berhad urgently resolves this problem at Dataran 3 Two Square.

According to a study by Sage Software and AMI-Partners, more than 260,000 small businesses in the US and Canada employ social networking tactics, too.
Most of them used professional social networking sites such as LinkedIn. General social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook were also widely used, followed by niche communities and job sites.
Less popular were microblogging services (such as Twitter and Yammer), forums, wikis and social bookmarking applications.
The reasons for adopting social networking tactics varied, but the most widespread uses of social media were for responding to customer questions, networking, and reference and educational purposes.
Many of the small business’ I speak to are not using social media but they are “looking at it”. The recession however is fueling interest in social media as business budgets are tightened.

How’s that for casual motoring? Two dogs, no helmet, on a cellphone. Welcome to Sumatra, Indonesia. I saw another bike loaded with 3 dogs and 2 guys on the way to what I found out later was a weekly wild boar hunt. If you find yourself in Padang on a Wednesday, make your way over towards Painan for some good fun hunting boar.

I’ve been digging Mastodon for about a year now. Their new album, “Crack The Skye” is worth checking out if you’re a fan of progressive hard rock. I’m hoping they come out with a DTS version.

Under the agreement, Detroit Electric will use Proton’s underutilized assembly line. Detroit Electric’s motor, lithium polymer battery, the drive train and other components will be fitted in the bodies of two Proton models, Persona and Gen 2. They will be sold as Detroit Electric, without a specific brand name.
Keep up the trend. Sorry Saudi Arabia..
