Ron Paul is the GOPs Howard Dean

I’m not one to give much advice to the other party, but at the end of the day we all benefit from a productive discourse and honestly I feel a little bad for just how screwed up their party is right now. The Republican party is dying it seems. I remember when Howard Dean was laughed out of town after Iowa in the 2004 election. He ended up coming back and saving the Democratic Party leading it to multiple waves of victory with his 50 State Strategy. I don’t see Ron Paul doing that for the GOP but I do think he capable of pulling off a true revolt within their party.

Dear republicans, Ron Paul is your Obi Wan – your only hope.

I endorse McCain for President, of Halloween

This is NOT photoshopped. The man actually made this zombie face in the final moments of the most important televised appearance of his political life. He is a Maverick! What if he’d performed the thriller routine? John McCain, you won’t get my vote but you’re invited to any future BBQ I have. Just leave Keating at home, he’s creepy. And tell Sarah, no moose. It’s hell to clean up the grill afterwards.

US Republican presidential nominee Senator John McCain (R-AZ) reacts to almost heading the wrong way off the stage after shaking hands with Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) at the conclusion of the final presidential debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, October 15, 2008. Protest, Art, or just wrong? I don’t know who is more stupid, McCain’s people for not doing background check on political leanings of photo journalists or Jill for putting herself in a position to possibly get sued or worse.

Just saw this over at Joe Trippi’s blog,

If you haven’t already heard, a big win came over the weekend in the form of Franking Reform that will open the doors to allow Congress to log on and communicate over the web with their constituents and anyone else out in the cloud. One of the main advocates for the reform, the Sunlight Foundation has been pushing the issue through their Let Our Congress Tweet campaign and Open House Project, collecting hundreds of “signatures” in the first Twitter-based petition to take to lawmakers.

Thanks to the Sunlight Foundation, Congress can now use social media. This is a game changer. Very cool!

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who’s hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Palin and her bid.

The old rancher said, “Well, ya know, Palin is a Post Turtle’”.

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘post turtle’ was.

The old rancher said, “When you’re driving down a country road you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle”.

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor’s face so he continued to explain. “You know she didn’t get up there by herself, she doesn’t belong up there, and she doesn’t know what to do while she’s up there, and you just wonder what kind of dummy put her up there to begin with”.
